Lvl 20 Impressions

Got my team of 3 to level 20 last night, finishing up my time in Ghostlands. I've decided to try and document the various DPS macros I've constructed at some important level benchmarks.

My warlock and priest both had consistent mana problems while questing, worse so with the warlock. Spirit tap procs helped keep my priest with at least some mana. Lack of gold due to RAF's quick leveling pace, and having no mage in my group makes water a tight commodity.

Macro Overview

For my DPS characters I generally have 2 main macros.

  1. DPS
  2. Nuke

The DPS macro is designed to put out solid DPS vs Elite mobs. Generally a carefully constructed cast sequence to maximize instance DPS.

The Nuke macro is a spammable direct damage ability. It's used primarily for questing since normal mobs die too fast for dots to be efficient, or during instances to kill the occasional normal mob or finish a low health elite.

Priest Details

Level 20 was a much bigger deal for the priest. Sub lvl 20 priest dps relies on smite spamming and the occasional Mind Blast. With Mind Blast being a cooldown ability, it presents a frustrating problem for macroing, especially when mobs sometimes die within a few seconds, leaving your castsequence hung on an ability that is on cooldown.
